The base is still ate up. I reckon I should've held off on leaving for vacation until things were more squared away. Not that I would've, that vacation ended up changing many things, for the better. Well worth the extra effort I have to put in now getting thing back in order. They started with the recnstruction, already they have the barracks up. The armory is almost finished. Of course my office is low on the prority list. I could have moved temporaily into another admin. building but I like sharing the office with the PD. Maddy had offered up her desk to Kim, but Kim said she didn't want us to look bad sharing the office. She's right of course. With there being new personell in we can't go giving them something to snicker about. But I do get to see her around the office, which I like. I wouldn't be able to see her as much right now if they weren't still out here. There are days I don't get home until well after she's fallen asleep. I hope she knows that it'll get better when things are back to status quo here.
Captain Turners turning out to be a stand up guy. He and his kid took over my old place. I feel bad for the kid though, on account of trainings been keeping him busy. We been taking the newbies out on manuevers pretty much every day since my return. I want them just as prepared as the guys that decidedd to stay on when the time comes and they need to suit up. The senior squads, or those who stayed, are back to patrolling at night. Though its been quiet. Maddy and Kim say its been quiet from their angle too. The only odd behavior has been the people getting busted for being to friendly in public. Though I gotta admit, I reckon I didn't think it was possible to see Kim blush. Some of the calls shes been dispatching have gotten her all red.
Things at the apartment have been going well. Better than one would have guessed. Tricks been a good sport about how much things have changed. Kim has been looking at house listings. Then she checks out the crime rate in the area. The market is pretty good here, I can't imagine why. Plenty of houses to choose from. Just a matter of figuring out what we want. I would like to be settled well before the baby comes, though I reckon theres still plenty of time.
I'm not sure Kim will wanna stay married after she hears my schedule next week. Got a couple of full birds coming in for inspection, which mean I gotta assess the newbies ready status by going on their next training mission. I reckon I wont have much of a free minute until next weekend. I don't know if she realized what she was getting into when she signed on with me. Things will settle down sooner or later.
