“So, have you thought of a name yet?” I ask quietly. Lying beside him, I can feel his heartbeat against my palm, as his thumb idly moves across my hip.
“I didn’t think women could tell if they were pregnant that soon after sex,” Jack says in a mocking tone.
“I was talking about the cat,” I answer with a laugh.
“Oh right,” Jack says as he turns on his side. Reaching down beside the bed, he picks up the orange fuzzy kitten, “I was thinking Haskas.” He pets its little head, smaller than his palm, while it begins to knead his chest.
“You wanna name your cat Haskas?
“Yep.”
“Why?”
“For my porn star name.”
“What?”
“You know, you take your pets name, add your mother’s maiden name, and that's your porn star name.”
“So what's your mother’s maiden name?”
“Tesvera,” He replies quietly, playing with the cat’s ear.
“Haskas Tesvera? That doesn’t even mean anything.”
“Not in English, but in Dreskatarian it's really very dirty,” he says, arching his eyebrows for effect.
“Oh god,” I groan in my most put upon tone.
“You know you’ve been saying that a lot lately.”
I am not blushing.
