“What is love?” The thing in front of Gwen hissed. It oddly reminded her of the blowfish earlier that year.
Gwen knew she should be thinking of Rhys when she answered but she wasn’t .
Why?
Because she didn’t love Rhys the way she loved Jack.
“Love is the things you don’t say.” Gwen smiled at all the unspoken moments between them. “It’s the actions that…make me feel safe.”
It laughed at her, amusement crinkling its obtuse features. Gwen smiled back but it wasn’t a warm smile, “I wouldn’t expect you to understand, I mean you did eat your wife.”
