Title: Have Faith In Me
Rating: R... maybe eventual NC-17
Pairing: Jalex
Summary: After Jack and Alex are hit by a drunk driver, Jack falls into a coma. When he wakes up he remembers nothing. Nothing except a certain blonde-haired singer who hates himself for what happened to his best friend.
Disclaimer: I own nothing. Title credit goes to A Day To Remember.
Author Notes: Guess who's still ill? This girl. But anyway, it's given me time to write a lot of stuff so I don't really mind haha. I don't think many people will get this chapter, it's a bit confusing. But if anyone does, high fives and free Alex Gaskarth's for you! ;)

The voices.

Voices were everywhere. They swarmed around him in a thick haze, he could hear the sounds but no words. What were they saying? He could catch glimpses of conversation, it was as if he was fading in and out of reality.

Jack was alone. He was running, running to a place that didn't exist. A road with no ending. He was screaming for someone to hear him, but no one did. Where was he? Why could no one hear him?

“Hey, Jacky. It's me again. You're probably getting sick of me being here everyday,” A voice he would recognise anywhere spoke. Alex. Alex was here?

“The doctor says it's good for your healing if I talk to you, something about how it helps your brain function if you hear someone familiar. I don't know, I'm not a doctor.” Jack heard his best friend speak and confusion filled him. A doctor? Why would he need a doctor? There was no one else here but him and Alex.

He wished he could see Alex, just see something familiar in this dark place. It was as if thick smoke was washing around him, blocking his senses. But despite all of this, Jack wasn't scared.

“I don't know if you can hear me, Jacky, but you need to wake up-I need you to wake up. I'm here kicking myself for what happened to you, I'm so sorry Jack. I'm so, so fucking sorry.”

I'm here, Alex! I can hear you! Jack yelled, but Alex didn't hear him. He huffed inwardly in frustration. Why couldn't Alex hear him, but he could hear Alex?

Suddenly it felt as if Jack was being pulled backwards, away from Alex. He yelled for him, for someone to hear him, but he just kept getting further and further away. Everything became muffled and the smoke became thicker, if that was even possible.

No, no, no, no! Alex, come back!

The voices were back, or rather, the sounds. There were no words, just noise, like static on a TV. Jack was yelling for someone to hear him, just one person to know he was here.

Then he was being pushed forwards again so quickly, the smoke clearing slightly. Everything was clearer, and he could hear Alex again. Jack sighed happily.

“I'm so sorry, Jack. You'll never understand how sorry I am.” Alex was crying, and Jack wanted so badly to help his friend, to comfort him, but he couldn't. And that frustrated him more than anything.

He felt a sudden pressure on his hand, like someone was holding it, tightening their grip on him. It was new to him; he'd never felt this before. Someone knew he was here! And he squeezed back, trying to let them know he was there.

“He just squeezed my hand!” Jack heard Alex yell, and then the noise started up again full force. It hurt Jack's ears, giving him a headache. But he couldn't stop it. It buzzed around him like a swarm of bees, a wave of sound raising higher and higher until...

It just stopped.

Everything fell silent, and Jack frowned in confusion. Where was everyone? Where was Alex?

“Jack, Jack can you hear me?” An unfamiliar voice echoed through his mind, and he felt the urge to open his eyes. But it was as if his eyelids were made of lead, he just couldn't open them.

“Jack, if you can hear me, squeeze my hand.” The voice said, and he felt the same pressure as before on his other hand. He did as he was told, hearing a collective gasp once he did.

“Jack, can you open your eyes?” And he wanted to yell that no, he couldn't open his damn eyes! but his voice wouldn't let him make a sound.

“Jacky, please.” Alex? Alex was here! “Open your eyes.”

He tried again, groaning in annoyance when he couldn't. Or rather he thought it was annoyance, but surprisingly it came out as a slightly pained groan. What surprised him more though, was that he actually heard himself, not just in his mind.

“Jack! Come on, open your eyes, please!” Alex pleaded, and Jack felt pressure on his hand again. He blinked slowly, the lead feeling on his eyelids slowly slipping away.

And then he opened them.

The first thing he saw was Alex's face, his eyes shining with tears but he was smiling. Jack was confused, what had happened? Then he noticed he was in a hospital room, a hospital room that was filled with people. He recognised Alex instantly.

But who were the others?
