So Im in my last year in school, almost done, nothing new to learn via teachers only large projects to do. So now that Im educated on things that are advanced Im starting to find that there are alot of web apps that are very badly designed, or they are very well built but the code they execute is so badly designed that its impossible work with.
Where am I going with this?
I want to build useful applications for people, secure, well designed, applications that are easy to implement (like paste 1 - 2 lines of code into some html ) Many of my friends are artists that have no idea what they are doing with html, css, let alone php, they also dont want to spend the money to have some one like me to build their sites (lets face it a good site with a good back end can go over 1k really fast) So what Im think is this.
1. Start with something simple, a web comic manager that is better designed then all the shitty ones.
2. Get a group of web brains together to build applications that are W3C and 508 compliant with small a small footprint.
part 2 will take some time, finding good people that share the same dreams and will actually work is a tall order so until then I will go with part one, the Webcomic application.
Now heres where you all come in. If you wanted to build a web comic what would you want to see? So besides the core functions
!. Display the latest comic depending on the date its triggered to update on
@. A archive of all past images with a linking viewable gallery
#. A news or description post that goes with each comic
$. Code that is easy to style and manipulate
%. A back end that is secure and simple to understand
^. The ability to delete upload and modify posts and comics with out a ftp or editing html.
&. Easy to install..like damn easy..
So thats what I have, what else can you think of? Shoot for the sky, what functions would you like to see?
Other then that, Im ok, hotel still hasnt payed me back infact they are being very difficult.
