Bits and Pieces.
Gentle Readers,
Just a couple of notes so I don't forget about them.
Firstly, I went to winterwar with Shyska. It was pretty fun and inexpensive as trips go. Had I known about the eastern tradidion of the dayboard, it would have been even cheaper. Watching the fighting was interesting. That there were thrown axes and spears in addition to the archery was also cool. I'm still not very good at telling the difference visually between a good blow and a bad one, but I'm better and it is much easier when they use things with visible blades. I think I would have to have a weapon with a better visual representation than the regular rattan swords in order to get it right. At least at first.
We had dinner in Brockville, which while not exactly on the way home was reasonably close. The food and company were great. Writing this had reminded me that I need to contact Dagmar about being Rapier Marshal at Trillies and also that I need to find those links on making rapier hilts to Thora.
Secondly, my new (to me) serger is fucked. The finger came loose and resulted in a broken overlooper. It's more to fix it than I paid for it in the first place so it is now a dead machine. I now have a couple of machines with parts that are no good, but with still working motors. Anyone have any suggestions about what I could do with them?
The third thing is that tonight is the 4th and final All Candidates meeting. It's been fun, but I'm glad to get it over with. I hope we get the vote dealt with quickly so I don't have to think about it for too long.
