Losing sleep and pushing myself last minute over here, as I finally wrap up this strange rollercoaster of a semester. I'm forced to part with my new sketchbook for a bit, but I'll be getting it back Thursday...not that I plan on using it until then anyway. Sure, I still have two other unfinished sketchbooks, but they lack the durability and portability that inspire me to push myself to draw. :P
Apparently some guy named Reggie who works at Nintendo was on hand to announce the next generation console. Naturally, I look forward to a more powerful Nintendo system with bigger disk space and better online support. Yet at the same time I'm left skeptical, as the competition have been announced to be clearly more powerful hardware, as well as more conventional controller designs. One may argue that the system power shouldn't matter as long as the games are good, but looking at the current generation of systems it should be obvious that certain drawbacks of the Gamecube's hardware have led to a number of notable franchises either leaving the little purple box alone in the dust or dumbing themselves down for it, and I'm afraid the same could also happen to its successor.
The "kiddie console" image has caught up with Nintendo and has done its damage, and it's about time they did something to correct that and return to their rightful position at the top of the video game food chain. There's only so much Miyamoto-sama can do...times have changed greatly since the days of the Super NES. Hopefully this Revolution will be one for the better.
Star Wars Episode 3 on the 19th! Hey, it's something to do.
You're the man now, dog! Too bad it requires Internet Explorer to work properly.
