Back on my Own (Laptop)

Got my laptop back on Thursday, and it's nice to have the sound working again. That's enough about that.

I found where the music data is stored in Castlevania, and then proceeded to figure out how to read it. Now I can read hexadecimal music better than sheet music, which I could barely ever read anyway. I have some ideas of what I want to do about the music, but I'm gonna take it slow just like I do with everything else in my life.

I've mapped out a bunch of other random things in the Castlevania ROM. Out of the 128 kilobytes that make up the file, I know what around 80-84 of those kilobytes are exactly for. That leaves around 40 kilobytes for game code, level data, other random data (like tables of numbers used for the game physics), and maybe some other crap I'm forgetting right now.

No Spring Break at MSOE this year. Boo...

Two tests, two labs, a speech, and some other crap all this week. Wouldn't be as bad if I actually had a Spring Break to cool off and rest during.

Got another refund check back from MSOE. Usually I use it to cover the cost of books, but this quarter I used my intellect in order to get all of my books for only like $140, and the refund is like $220. So here's hoping that those new handheld systems go down in price soon.

Today marks the twentieth time that I've been told that I'd be going to Hell based solely on my AIM away messages. I mean, I try really hard to think some of these up, and then people tell my I'm going to some imaginary made-up place? It's ludicrous.

I finally played that multiplayer Zelda game for Gamecube...with my 11-year old sister. But it was pretty fun, and if anyone wants to join in on that (especially if they have a Game Boy Advance) then they can. You don't even have to like or be good at Zelda to enjoy it; it's more about a crazy combination of teamwork and competition, where everyone works together to beat the level but whoever has the most money at the end wins. Kinda like in life, only there's no Octoroks in real life. At least I hope there aren't any; maybe I just haven't gotten far enough in real life, and the Octoroks don't show up until like level 7.

My profile picture isn't emo enough. I need a picture of me with my hair dyed black and wearing a t-shirt for the most obscure band ever. Because obscure = good musical talents.

Although, if you take out the S from MSOE, you can spell EMO.

Only AJ replies to this livejournal anymore anyway, so it doesn't really matter what I write. Well, it does, but it doesn't.
