Movin' on to the next step

Week 2:

Warm up
20 minutes of alternating 90 seconds of running and 2 minutes of walking.
Cool down

It still feels like it's really quite easy.  Don't get me wrong, I'm getting a good workout, but I always feel like I could keep going when the half hour is up.  It's so different from my workout mentality when I was a competitive athlete.  Back then it was all about seeing how far I could push myself.  But back then, my motivation was to be the best skier or soccer player I could be.  And I had a lot more time to exercise throughout the day.  Now the motivation is just to feel good.  No competition.  No contest.  And my workouts are only 45 minutes long so it's easier to schedule into my day.

So far, I like it.  It's a nice ease back into focusing on exercise.  Focusing on me.

We've lost Colleen and Phlip in this endeavor due to a foot injury.  :(  We'll figure out a different strategy to get the bride-to-be feeling wedding fabulous!  So it was just Chris and I, and we ran in the evening this time.  I like it because of several reasons:
1) I like to sleep in.
2) It's not as crowded.
3) Its not as buggy in Prospect Park as it is in Colchester VT.
4) I'd rather drink some water when I get home at night instead of a beer. :)

Cons:
1) It's hard to see the second hand on my watch in the dark
2) There are more people out riding their bikes in the evening
3) Running past people BBQing...the BBQ doesn't smell as good when your lungs are craving oxygen.

So to sum up, so far so good.
