My goodness it's been a while.
So Chris and I are still in NY and I'm glad that's the decision we made. I do miss Vermont, but it's not going anywhere and we'll be back eventually.
Work is going well. I enjoy my job and people seem to like me.
I don't really have exciting news to report. I'm just sitting here at work (late) and bored out of my mind. I'm babysitting a rehearsal for South Pacific at Lincoln Center Theatre right now. They are putting in a new Nellie while their original starlet is going away on maternity leave. Her replacement is Laura Osnes, of "Grease: You're The One That I Want!" fame. She's a sweetheart.
Chris and I just had a wonderful and relaxing three day weekend. Valentines Day was wonderful. We had a lovely dinner at Abigails and just enjoyed being able to wind down and relax together.
Other people's lives seem really exciting right now. I have loads of friends (and cousins!) in new exciting relationships, or buying houses and and trying to get pregnant and having babies and getting married. I am extatic for all of them, and would go into more detail here, but it's really not my news to share, so out of respect for them I'll keep things on the DL.
As for me, I've joined
tdf.org (Theatre Development Fund) which is an awesome website that offers super discounted Broadway and Off-Broadway tickets to fellow theatre professionals. So I've been dragging Chris to all sorts of shows recently. We saw August Osage County two weeks ago, which was AWESOME! We lucked out because the majority of the original cast just came back for a short stint. We also saw Shrek, which was adorable. The set blew me away! And so did the cast. Great stuff. In three weeks, Aunt Sherry and Uncle Rene are coming to the city and we're gonna see In The Heights, which I've been wanting to see for a long time.
There are quite a few shows opening on Broadway this spring that I am excited to see...Blithe Spirit (which Kristen will be making the trip down for!), Waiting for Godot, Hair, Rock of Ages (RAD!!!), West Side Story...I know there are more, but those top the list at the moment.
Chris and I planning on taking a 4 day weekend at the end of March to head up to VT for another visit. I'm looking forward to visiting with the family and friends, and perhaps a day of skiing or sledding or ice skating or something.
This weekend, besides watching the Oscars and perhaps seeing an old friend star in the broadway tour of Sweeney Todd, we'll be in New Jersey helping Erin and Morgan paint the walls of their new house!! I believe they just closed on it today! I'm bringing champagne and my painty clothes!
Well, they should be winding down with rehearsal within the next 15 minutes or so...I should start shutting things down. It can be a long commute back to Brooklyn.
