Seeded B3, finished third, also won for high scoring play (P)LEATERS 2x2 for 90, and special bonus "Carl's Jr" theme word for FRIED. (I considered entering TOXINS for the category, but settled for the good laugh.)
So, I left with $60 before heading out for pizza.
I finally won a game against Pat Diener, in the final round. My record against Pat is now 3-17 lifetime in tournaments.
Beat Noah, challenged off two attempts at bingos, one hooking P(OR)*, and then another attempt hooking (ET)S*. He was getting really frustrated, throwing down his pencil, leaning back in his chair, behaving like a twelve-year-old... oh yeah, he is a twelve-year-old. He is a very tough player and I think I lose more often than win against him. Played a very careful closed game until I had put a good lead together.
Had both an X and a Z bingo one game, both for 69 points. favorite find of the day CRANIU(M)S. Most frustrating orphan: ZEALOTS.
Going into the final K-O-H, Leesa at 6-0, four of us at 3-3, Marina at 0-6. So Leesa is Gibsonized, leaving the middle of the pack to fight it out.
