Finally, internet!

I finally decided to get my own mobile broadband. I figure rather than cut myself off with absolutely no internet, I'll probably get my work done with it since I can satisfy my crave for dramas or fandom stuff than go work on my assignments rather then spend that time feeling miserable and not doing my work. The only down side is there isn't enough usb ports for me to use my wireless mouse because 1 is for the mobile broadband, 1 for the cooling pad which is definitely essential otherwise my laptop will crank up and shut down for no reason and the last 1 is for my external hard drive when I want to watch dramas.

Anyway, today fandom sort of turned up in my classes. XD In my first lecture, the lecturer wanted to show how the same things can be sold in different ways in different countries because of the influence of their culture. As an example, she showed 2 pictures of McDonald's, one from Japan and the other from Thailand. The one from Japan was a print ad which had used manga characters while the one from Thailand was a picture of the Ronald McDonald figurine outside the store with it's hands clasped palm to palm like the Thai greeting. I then thought why did the manga character's cap looked soooooooo familiar and when I decided to properly figure out the katakana, it was Yattaman! Ah, Arashi. Just when I was bored. <3

My next class was a tutorial and during class, someone's phone rang and guess what? It was Big Bang's Haru Haru! Just the first few notes played and I immediately recognized it. The best part was it's a guy's phone and he looked like he was in his mid to late twenties. Fanboys. :P Big Bang! <3 All today is missing is NEWS.

I had a good look yesterday at my academic timetable for this semester and realized that the last day of the exam period is 20th Nov. I can actually make it in time for Arashi's concerts in Tokyo Dome which is from 4-6 Dec. I'm really really very tempted to do that now. But that all depends on if my relative is willing to collaborate with me and sell Arashi concert goods from Kokuritsu. If he does and I earn enough money, I might just make a short trip there. Can visit my friend, Bernice, too. If I have this goal, I might even work harder at my assignments. :P

Oh yeah, I watched the first few episodes of Nakai's drama Konkatsu and I understand the bad ratings. It's an alright drama but definitely NOT gekku material. Even when I mentioned this to Mag, she didn't believe me.  I think I stopped around episode 3 and at that point, I still didn't really get who the main female lead is. I think what the drama lacked is the romance area. It felt like Nakai going on a marriage hunt had become the main story rather than him and a definitely female lead's love story. It's a good thing that Buzzer Beat though does have quit a fair bit on Naoki and his basketball but there is enough romance too. Otherwise it might suffer Konkatsu's fate.
