Agatone and Excitement...!
Okay, the (belated) story of Agatone (The Official Name of my mom's tiny, purple unicorn figurine) is now starting.
It started with an AP English project. (You should probably learn to love/loathe those words, depending on your sense of humor.) We were told to pick a partner and write our own, original, Greek myth together. (I don't know what our dear teacher was thinking. I really don't.) The new-ish girl, Juliet, and I decided to be partners. We were supposed to explain a natural occurrence. We originally chose meteor showers. It just escalated from there.
I'm not sure which of us decided to add in "Apollo's favorite flock of flying, telepathic unicorns," or when we added "pacifist" to that list and decided they had to be pink or purple, but we ended up having the first line of our story as "Apollo hitched his favorite flock of flying, telepathic, pacifist unicorns to his chariot and prepared to take flight." Agatone, though, is Apollo's favorite purple unicorn from his flock. He's the one who tells Apollo about the hatred-spreading rebels who are trying to kill all the gods in order to become gods themselves by using Unicorn Blood Magic. This, understandably, upset Apollo. In the end, the rebels were sent to the Underworld for all eternity, and Agatone remains an unrecognized hero.
Anyway, I decided to call my mom's glass unicorn Agatone in order to show our Agatone some appreciation. In case you're wondering, our natural occurrence ended up being avalanches (and the time-change). I'll look for a copy of our myth to post it, if anyone would like to read it.
Besides that, I've one other important thing to say. I'm amazingly, awesomely, unbelievably excited. If all goes according to plan (knock on wood), Zante, Jai, and I are going to the midnight premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. Given that I'm a humongous Harry Potter fan and that Zante and Jai are two of the best people to hang out with when we're all ridiculously tired, it should be easy to figure out why I'm so ridiculously excited. I'll be sure to give a thoughtful review of it once I'm properly rested afterward. And since I seem to spend an inordinate amount of time talking about them, I'm going to add AP and Movies tags.
