Week 4 in Birka is off for a rough ride

Week 4 - Maria Stolt

Maria, the baby stalker, has a plan - she wants a baby of her own. And since Margareta cannot give that to her, she’s taking care of business. Christopher Nedergård is a crossed-out bolt for Maria usually, but he’s got the right colours.

Get down to business…

…and get out, before Ludde comes home from school…

Unfortunately it seems the encounter with Christopher didn’t yield any result, and tomorrow Margareta is off work. Maria is in a hurry if she’ll be able to have her own baby, she’ll be an elder in 7 days.

Maria re-thinks her strategy while painting, to be able to pay the taxes.

“I think we should let Ludde have a little brother or sister” Maria says. “Haha, from where?!” Margareta answers. “We’ve got no money for an adoption!”

“Well, I’ve got an idea but you must promise not to be jealous!”

A few hours later Margareta finds that No Jealousy is easier said than done (ACR token No Jealousy doesn’t work…)

The “Not Jealous” Margareta is making it even with Christopher. Marie, who's randomly visiting, doesn’t like what she sees.

Ludde on the other hand, has found love in Ingrid Belin, a local girl.

I’m starting to worry that this guy is shooting blanks, and that all the upsetting scenes have been in vain.

Or maybe not!

Maria and Ludde go to Walfridssons Kolonial to pick up some groceries, and to feed Maria. She’s at the edge of starvation with her pregnancy.

Anton is struggling with the cash register and Ludde does not look pleased. Sorry pal, it’s the only grocery shop in the neighbourhood!

Margareta attends to the family business and Club Maggan reaches level 2 with the help of baldie Sean here.

Friday: Maria gives birth to another girl in this hood. She names her Diana. She’s got blond hair and dark blue eyes like her mother.

By the time Diana is born, Maria and Margareta made up. Married bliss is re-instated.

Diana grows up to toddler on Sunday night. She turns out to be a neat Capricorn, and she looks very pale.

Week 4 - Magnus Norman

Last week's disastrous happenings take their toll on Magnus, and he gets fired due to poor work performance. Luckily we're not playing according to Prosperity rules here.

His salary would have come in handy, since there is about 100§ missing for the family to be able to pay their tax.

The next day at Ekte Norsk, a critic is showing up! She gets both this reaction and black clouds over her head.

In the end the positive impressions are tipping the scale, and Magnus gets a good review! The business is good the rest of the day, and Magnus can pay the taxes when he gets home.

Aww, Magnus is tucking Audhild in at night. He’s so sweet and adorable!

After the taxes are paid, there are no more money in the house. Magnus takes his family to Ekte norsk to barbecue some hot dogs, but apparently he gets distracted from hunger and sets the barbecue on fire.

Our hero!

And while the sun rises, the family eats burnt hot dogs and discuss the weather. Apparently Audhild doesn’t like sunshine, and with her fair complexion I can understand that. Also - we did install a fire alarm!

Wilma and Magnus’ moods are so bad that it affects the business. Time to close up, buy some groceries from Walfridsson’s and head home. Come to think of it, Wilma invited the headmaster tonight, wonder how that will end...

Wilma’s charm secures a place in private school for Audhild, despite bad moods, poor tour score and burnt pork chops. Not to mention the hostess wearing her less than sexy underwear the entire visit.

Lesson for today - you don’t need to be perfect to get an OK score!

Look! No hands! Audhild still plays with her spinny-thing.

Magnus is in a slightly better mood today, and business goes better. Ekte Norsk reaches level 4. He chooses the money award.

Unfortunately there are complaints for something, so the level goes down to three again.

It’s immediately up again though! Note that the level 3 sign is still there!

Thanks to the cash award, we’re able to buy an exclusive couch and TV. Maybe it will become easier to keep the fun up!

Finally, on Thursday, both Audhild and Magnus are in a good enough mood to get down to business with the homework. Audhild is not flunking, but she’s got 3- (less than average)

It’s nearly impossible to get Wilma to fix the tub, since her mood is dropping as soon as she enters the bathroom. Therefore Audhild is trying to mop up the mess so that Wilma can stand fixing the tub. There’s a long way to population count 500 when we can hire a repairman…

On Saturday Wilma invites Tracy Maine and her family, to let the girls, who are born on the same day, meet. Maybe they can be friends, there are not many kids around here.

Magnus decides it’s time to go back to working in Law Enforcement again. Unfortunately no such openings in today’s news paper.

The girls spend the afternoon at the chess table. If Audhild can max her Logic skill before she’s adult, we have an opening in Science!

Magnus started selling Wilma’s toys in his shop, and it was an instant hit. He didn’t have time to have any fun at all, so he’s extremely bored when he closes the shop for the night. Anyway, he reached rank 5!

Look! A townie kid! Her name is Sibylla Ekström and she looks like she was born in game, with the standard girl haircut. Why isn’t hair style randomized when the sims grow up?

Sunday Magnus succeeds in finding a guard job. He starts already tonight.

Thereby he misses out on Audhild’s birthday party. An interesting fact is that Nero is here with his party flirt Celeste AND his “wife” Tracy.

She rolls Knowledge - normally YAY! - but in this hood where there’s no Uni available, we see a future shrink visit for you, my dear.

Audhild is a Gemini as her mother, and turns on from formal wear and brown hair, but turns off from black.
