Tempis Non Fugit

Oh, this summer is moving by one slow day after another. I know I have a lot to do, so you'd think that would keep me busy-busy.

But no...here I sit wasting time as always.

Current agenda: studying for the GRE's. I have to relearn all this math stuff that I <3'd at one point. As for the verbal portion, I really don't think there is much I can do at this point to help myself. I can't make up for 23 bad years of linguistic usage in the course of a month (btw, I plan to take the GRE at the beginning of July).

I am also scourring the planet for the next stage in grad schools. FYI, for anyone looking at grad school's, best let them know you are coming, so you can know whether or not you have a chance of getting in. Email faculty now, ask them questions, get them on the phone, and then go have lunch with them. Life is business, and in grad school: you are the product and you're the only one selling yourself hoping someone will buy it. I have gotten good emails back from IU and U Mich, so the nest step in phone calls. And then visits!!! I'm hoping to squeeze both in on some weekend. Then, I have to deal with UT-Austin and FSU.

Oh, and did I mention I need to get this whole ball rolling on the Fulbright? I need to talk with some DR people and then maybe I can make another appt. with Deb Pearce, the Fulbright lady at NIU.

Phew...see? plenty to do? So why am I sitting here at the computer!?! ::zoom::
