Their nostalgic talk
Shintaro: Do you remember any memorable episodes of the two of us?
Juri: As expected, isn’t it how we often visit each other’s houses since a long time ago? If it’s something recent, when Shintaro visited my house, he was in the midst of dieting.
Shintaro: I was x2. Then, I was served rice with tendon
Juri: That’s right! My dad cooked tendon. Then, Shintaro ate it while saying, “Since he went out of his way to make it...”, and he got all emotional because of the deliciousness of the rice that he hadn’t eaten for a long time (LOL).
Shintaro: Well~ that was delicious!
Episode talk about Shintaro, by Juri
“Someone with whom I can be myself around”
The first time when I properly noticed Shintaro was during Hey! Say! JUMP!’s Yokohama Arena concert. That was the first time that I took part in a concert as a junior, and I clearly remember Shintaro wearing a pink costume and sitting on the staircase that was connected to the center stage. I think Kyomo was there too. Since I had watched the play “DREAM BOYS” before, I was aware of Shintaro’s existence, so it made me think, “Oh, it’s that guy.” At that time, Shintaro was just a grade-schooler and was really small, so it really left an impression on me. But I don’t think I really talked to him back then.
For the first-ever magazine that I appeared in, I shot a picture together with Shintaro in Odaiba. SoI think I was already talking to him normally by that time. But I really don’t remember how we started talking to one another(LOL). I used to roam the city with Shintaro, visit each other’s houses, and often hang out together. Shintaro, Kyomo, Fuuma and I had chances to hold mics back then and often got to be back dancers for JUMP san’s tour, so I think we became naturally close like that. At that time, the ones that were like our elder brothers were Snow Man. With them as our seniors, we were the back dancers for JUMP. So nostalgic.
The thing that I like the most about Shintaro is that I can be myself around him because we were together since we were young. I don’t need to make a conscious effort to force myself to match our talks and stuff. The thing that I want him to change is how he falls asleep so fast. I share a room with Hokuto when we travel out of the city these days, but I used to share it with Shintaro before this. Shintaro would lie on the bed and play games, and most of the time he would fall asleep just like that (LOL). No matter how worked up he was before, he would just fall asleep like he got switched off. I personally want to enjoy the ‘cooling down’ period after the excitement with a pillow talk till we fall asleep. But since Shintaro will already be asleep by then, it makes me feel a bit unsatisfied. I want him to stay awake for a bit more and accompany me (LOL).
Episode talk about Juri, by Shintaro
“Since I like the relationship between us right now, from now on too…...”
The first time I met Juri...was it during the rehearsal for KAT-TUN’s concert? No, did we meet before that? The very first time was during the stage play, “PLAYZONE 2010~”, huh! Hmm~, my memory from back then is very vague, but I remember talking to him about various stuff right from the beginning. Also, Juri used to rap since he was small, so I remember naturally thinking, “So cool.”
We haven’t really gone on a vacation or a trip with just the two of us, but we do go out for meals a lot since a long time ago. I often went to Juri’s house to hang out too.
I don’t feel awkward around Juri even if we are both not talking, so it is really relaxing when I’m with him. When I went to Juri’s house in the past, there was an instance where Juri was watching TV in the living room, and I was just using my phone in the dining room. Juri’s mom was sitting opposite me while using her phone like it was a natural thing (LOL). When it was like that, it often felt like I was a part of the Tanaka family. Our relationship is to the extent that it doesn’t feel awkward even if we do nothing.
But when we say, “Let’s go for a meal” and even though I suggest, “Well, how about this (shop)?”, he would say “Nah”. When I search up a different shop and say, “Well, this?”, he would say “Nah”. Deciding on a shop is tough because of this kind of exchange (LOL)! That’s why when we go out for a meal, we generally end up eating what Juri wants.
What do I like about Juri? Well…...ah, Juri really sleeps a lot. He can probably sleep anywhere, even on the bus when we are on the move or at the rehearsal location. When I see him sleeping like that, I would think, “He is still like a kid” and “So cute”.
But during those times, wouldn’t it be better if you don’t drool? (LOL). You are a 25 years old adult after all. Well, even though I am saying this and that, I don’t really hate those parts.
Juri and I talk about stupid things while laughing loudly and fooling around. On the other hand, we also talk about serious things and remind each other of the parts which we think are not good about each other. I really like our relationship right now and I think it would be great if we can remain this way forever.
To Juri, 10 years later:
Juri is 35 years old and I am 33 years old huh. How will it be~? We will be at a marriageable age and I do want to get married but unexpectedly, maybe nothing would have changed. 10 years later, when both of us read this message again, let’s definitely go for a meal!
To Shintaro, 10 years later:
Shintaro drinks soy sauce and loves salty food so I am worried if his body condition will be fine. Once you pass 30 years old, I hope you think more about your health. Take good care of yourself and always be the energetic Shintaro!
Trivia talk during the shooting
When we asked Shintaro a question during his solo interview, he purposely said, “What do I like about Juri~?” to attract Juri’s attention. When Juri was talking about an episode, it somehow became a cross-talk. They are getting along well today too!
