So the Slav is cleaning the litter boxes. He takes the lid off of lumpy-cat's box and starts scooping. There's a pause, and I hear "Julia, Nicky is fucking stupid."
I replied that I already knew this.
"Oh, no," says the Slav. "I mean he's REALLY fucking stupid. There's something SHINY in this turd, here."
Shiny, yes.
Upon closer inspection, it appears that Tsar Nikolas ATE ALUMINUM FOIL. OUR CAT IS TOO DUMB TO DISTINGUISH FOOD FROM NOT-FOOD.
