Hey.
So Friday was one of my weirdest days in a while. I woke up at 7 to get ready for work, and my Dad came up to me and said, "Hey Emily, you really need to look out the front door." As I peered out the portal in our door, I caught sight of a melon decorated with a face - an 8-inch long green pepper nose, green onions for hair, small reddish peppers for ears (I thought they were tomatoes), other onions for mouth and eyes, raisins for pupils - staring at my front door. I took a few pictures as always, and my dad turned it around so that it was facing the street for passerby. It's still there.
Later, I unwittingly forgot to take the leads off Thurber and Sasha when I put them back in their house after a walk. Two hours later, I received a phone call from their owner, telling me that she had gotten home and found her dogs happily walking around the house, leashes in tow.
Then, I saw Mr. Enorme Vanilla Chai, who used to come to work all the time, in Bethesda as I walked around with Gary. I also saw my old youth group leader, who used to work for the U.S. Forest Service, then taught dance, and is now a paralegal, apparently.
Today, my mom and I stopped by Step Ahead at the end of a day of errands. The owner, who knows us well, asked if I was still seeing the same guy, since Barry came along with me to find my prom shoes last May. I said no, and realized that we broke up exactly a year ago.
Strange, or something.
Becca and Betsy, I had an awesome drive with you guys on Sunday. We'll have to go to Coldstone again.
Tonight we ate steak for dinner, and afterward Dad lay a napkin over the steak juice on his plate and tried to cut it with a knife and eat it. Then he told my mom it was from a wound on his knee.
