Tell Me Why...I Don't Like Mondays

Nov 13, 2006 23:32

A typical monday at UCL (for me anyway)...

Wake up at 8.15 for lecture at 9am. The worst lecture of the week. Then back to my flat to 'do some work' (see last post). Eat lunch (supernoodles, they are fantastic for hangovers!) and actually do some work, before my tutorial at 3pm. My tutor is an interesting character called Dr Ass-Smacker...actually its Axmacher but close enough. he is very German and says 'Ya' after everything. So he set us a lovely essay, before letting us go to our lecture on London. After that, an hour of planning a route for my gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition, which will hopefully happen in the Lake District at Easter.

Now for the fun part...Monday is Quiz Night at my favourite haunt-the ULU bar. My team consists of my best friends here, collectivly known as '5 geographers but one got lost'. The team varies each week, but usually we are...
Me!
Nicola: She lives at Schafer house (the same halls as me), and is really lovely, and totally crazy!
Jackie: Also at Schafer. A Dr. Who obbsessive, totally in love with David Tennant. Complete nutter in the best way!
Clare: Someone who travels as much, if not more, than I do. Very down to earth, funny lady, with an obbsession with strange vegetables. Apparently the first vegetable she thinks of that isn't green is a potato.
Xiaoxi: Yes, that is 4 vowels and 2 X's. Pronounced 'Shore-she'. She comes from china, and has a love of anything pink. Very ditsy and also totally crazy!
Caz: Lives in the same village as me at home home. More about that later. Speaks her mind, and we constantly exchange insults. Possibly the funniest person on the planet...if you like the dry dark humour! Love her to bits, even though she knows way to much about me!

(Clare and Xiaoxi looking rather good at the fresher's ball)

(Caz, Me and Nicola not looking so good at Halloween in ULU)

So thats us. Caz is the only one who can actually answer the questions, so usually while she does that Nicola tries to get as many pen marks on me as possible. And generally beats me up and picks on me. Lovely girl. :) And occasionally there is a question about Dr Who and Jackie gets excited.

Our quiz night rivals also need mentioning: Saam and Sam. Both funny blokes, also from Schafer...big rivalry!

After the results we head back home, which is where I am now. My flat is an interesting place. I live with a bunch of wankers. Well, the girls are okay, but not really the sort of people I have a lot in common with. They are all rather spoilt, and love to go out clubbing and shopping. They can't go anywhere alone, or do anything 'uncool'. They are:
Kat: The worst of the three. Some interesting moments: 'Don't tell anyone i am sad enough to walk all the way to Sainsburys to buy walnuts'...'Throw that greasy pan away and buy a new one instead of washing it'
Angela and Flo: Two girls sharing the one room illegally. The three of them are best friends.
Then the wanker blokes:
Martin: Could be alright if it wasn't for his determination to do anything to get with the 'in crowd', no matter how it makes anyone else feel.
Keiran: In my opinion, a bit of a bully. Insomniac. He has...repeatedly bamged on my door at 3am, set an alarm clock outside my room, thrown food/belongings out of the window, stolen the master keys for the building and trashed Kat's room, turned off the electricity to all flats, frozen the phone...the list goes on. In fact, the list grows every day. I have made a bit of a decision to report him because I am feeling a bit victimised and I don't think he should be allowed to get away with treating people like shit because it makes him laugh.

So thats my day. I love uni life in general, love my lectures, my friends, the atmosphere. I just get pissed off at my flatmates sometimes, but will try my best to resolve that.
