Another day, another intense college search

After more thought, I dropped Marquette from the possibility list. Too expensive.

Then I cast my net wider, looking at Michigan and Kentucky. Michigan had Northern Michigan University, which I strongly considered, until I took a look at the average days of sunshine, amount of snowfall, and average temperatures. Thanks but no thanks.

Enter Murray State from Kentucky. It has everything I'd been looking for, but has 3,000 students more than Lacrosse and costs double the amount of money. Still, it's strong enough to be entertained as a serious option.

Until I looked for coaching certifications. Lacrosse offers it. Murray State doesn't.

That right there sealed it. I've decided that I want to get into coaching as a career. The times I was happiest in my life were the times when I was coaching the soccer team. I loved it like nothing else I've ever done. Sure coaching is a difficult field to break into and it doesn't pay much until you become a head coach.

But it's what I love above everything else.

I just can't believe it took me this long to realize it.

I want to become a college head coach, preferably in basketball at the Division 1 level. If I don't make it that far, well that's cool. But that's my dream and it's been my private dream since I was a little boy. I'd thought about it off and on over the years, but never gave it serious thought... but the dream was patient and let me stumble around... It was only waiting to be realized at the right time.

And now is that right time.
