So I've expanded my search and hit upon the following options:
Option #1: Marquette University
:Advantages
-An hour away from home
-Greek life
-Fencing opportunities
-Dance clubs
-Prestigious; will look good on grad school applications
-Division 1
:Disadvantages
-$29,000 a year
-May not be able to get in
-Milwaukee is a large city
-No football team
Option #2: University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse
:Advantages
-Four hours away from home
-Greek life
-Concert venue
-50-60,000 population, so a nice midsized city
-Cheap, cheap enough for me to have minimal loans when I'm done, if any
-Should be able to get in
-Kayaking
-Football team
:Disadvantages
-No fencing anywhere close
-Not as academically prestigious, which may affect my graduate school choices
-Division 3
The fencing thing is *huge* for me. I'm sick of fencing foil here and not having an actual coach to train under. Hell, I've *NEVER* had an actual coach to train under.
I want a coach and I want to fence sabre/epee, but more sabre than anything else.
I know at least one reader here will suggest UW-Milwaukee as a third alternative, but the student population is too big for my tastes there. Both UW-Lacrosse and Marquette are at 7,000+ students which is right about the perfect figure, I think.
What is for certain is that I won't be back here to Wyoming next spring.
