Italy 3-0 Ukraine :D
Really need to let off steam. I still feel pissed about the Argentina vs Germany match for some reason. I don't think Argentina might have necessarily conceded 4 goals during penalty shootout if their previous goalkeeper hadn't been injured, and it just sucks so much that Michael Ballack put the guy in so much pain without being penalized, but it wasn't just the pain, I'm sure Abbondanzieri (had to look that name up :P) was really important for the Argentine defence. With him gone, Argentina didn't have a chance against Germany in the shootout, because Franco was blatantly crap. He missed so many of the goals that otherwise good goalkeepers (Italy's Buffon, for example) would've saved.
So what's the big deal if Heinze was running his mouth after the match, and some other Argentine threw the Germans a punch? I'm sure I'd be just as frustrated and bewildered if I were on the Argentine side. It almost feels like they've been strategically deprived of their better goalkeeper.
There's my rant. -_- That game left me feeling dismal.
But the Italy one lifted my spirit much. Italy 3-0 Ukraine!!! :D Everyone's saying they've "cruised" to the semi-finals, even though I think Italy still played really well. They weren't at all complacent about Ukraine (though they didn't have to work too hard lol) and their defense was tight as hell, especially Buffon who made some really cool saves. AND OF COURSE I'D BE HAPPY... IT'S ITALY! *waves an Italy flag* XD My fave team is through to the semi-finals. Even if they can't beat Germany, I'm happy... but I hope they'll get lucky and make it to the finals. ;_; (I don't dare to entertain hopes that they'll snatch this year's World Cup ._.)
Three paragraphs of football ramble which I'm sure nobody here would care except for maybe charliepanayi. XD Went out and got stuffed on Chinese today. Damnit, king crab spring rolls are so awesome. T_T Watched some more of "Ayakashi" too. Haven't seen any since months and months ago, because ep 4 had no sound and I couldn't be arsed to re-download it, but I finally did, and finished the Yotsuya Kaidan arc as well as started the Tenshu Monogatari one, which is really sweet and cute. ^^
