Edwardian Ball

Feb 25, 2013 11:58

On Saturday me, my roommate and another costumer friend attended the Edwardian Ball at the at the Fonda theater. It was my first time attending and it was amazing! In addition to all of the performances, it was great to catch-up with some of my ex-coworkers from DarkGarden Corsetry (They performed) and some theater people I know here in LA. I'm jealous of my Bay Area friends who get to attend the 3-day version they hold there.
I took some pitures before we left, all of the others are from my roommates phone.

So far the best place to find photos from the event is on the Facebook Event page, as people have been posting links to their albums: https://www.facebook.com/events/361714270586479/

I had been wanting an excuse to wear my tutu again, and then I remembered seeing some Gentlemen in Frock coats and Romantic Tutu's in Moulin Rouge! Since I already had a top hat and tail coat (From my jack costume) the only thing I needed to get was the fishnet tights. I had originally planned to wear my black underbust corset as well, but the jacket pretty much covered most of it so I simplified and wore a bustier.

My roommate wore my hair corset ensemble, with some lace tights, feather fascinator, and a leg avenue Tulle bustle. She had originally been working on an evening bodice for one of her Victorian gowns, but decided to barrow from me and save that for a later event.

My other friend Made her long gown and corset (under the dress) for the event. Knowing her it will probably end up getting rented out from the costume shop she works at. Because it had a train it was a little tricky to wear at such a crowded event.

The evening was finished off with a 2am trip to Canters 24 hour Diner/Jewish bakery, I have a hunch we may have sat in the booth where Guns n' roses sat while visiting on their tour.
