Last night me and my friend Alex attended the Social Daunce Irregulars November Ball. It was the first time going for both of us so we had a lot of fun exploring the building and meeting new people (Including
koshka_the_cat and
twilatee) We had a running joke the whole night that Alex was Scarlet O'hara:

The last picture cracks me up, I'm sad its out of focus, but we were having a little bustle/crinoline collision!
Some details that don't show up in the pictures are on Alex's bodice. She has a stylish false vest that buttons, and the peplum is pleated. She made her entire dress (and undergarments) in a week, which is amazing!!!
And Alex obliged me by taking some pictures of me in my dress:
I was channeling that famous 1860's portrait of a women in a blue satin dress.
Last minute I decided to make myself a little headdress. I had had the pattern for a while, but only finally got to it the day of the ball. The end result was finished enough to wear, but only 1/2 completed to were I would have liked. Once school is over and my break starts I want to finish knotting the fringe (to match the dress) and find some way to enhance the embroidery on the back, it got a bit lost. I also have some 1/2 finished lappets/bow ends I want to incorporate back in somehow. For reference it was this pattern, and it was a bit of a PITA:

In the pictures I am also wearing the combinations I just finished. I'm still figuring out a good way to photograph them, since they are a bit see through ;) For the neckline, sleeves and hem I used some of my insertion lace stock:
