Victory is MINE!!!

Finals week I was kind of on fire as far as being productive. I finished the corset in time to wear it and all of my projects with enough energy left to go celebrate with my friends after class. It was extremely fun!!!

First we Posted for photos for the Discarded to Divine Records/catalog (After the last 6 hour class).
Then we went to the DarkGarden Holiday party and a few of them tried on corsets for the first time.
After that we accidentally crashed a graduation party at a bar; but since all but me in my group had graduated that day they didn't care and even gave us free drinks! There was also a DJ, and we danced for a few hours before going separate ways and I took BART home. The whole time I was wearing my corset (and my back mini tricorn) it passes the compfy test :)

I took these photos right after I finished the Modesty Panel, a friend is going to help me get some high-quality shots on myself in the near future.

The inside:

I sewed the binding on the outside by machine mostly, expect in a few spots where it was too close to the boning (Oops). On the inside I sewed it by hand. When I was sewing the binding over the top of the cup I purposely made it tighter, so it curves in gently.
To help with the back armhole being too tight from before, I cut it down and lightly clipped (1/8" snips) under the binding. It is much better than before.

Modesty Panel:

I think this is actually the first time I have made a modesty panel for a corset...or at least if I have I really don't remember. I decided to go ahead and try a floating modesty panel, and used this post as a guide: http://electradesigns.livejournal.com/59659.html#cutid1
Honestly, the entire thing would have worked a lot smoother if I hadn't decided to do all this at one o'clock in the morning *face palm* There was a lot of confusion and cursing involved, I also completely forgot to put bones in it. So far it seems to be working nicely, I shall see what happens next time I lace it on myself, and Make modifications or add bones if I need to.

I am SO HAPPY that this corset is done. I am also excited to have some photos that weren't taken with my computers camera :)

Now off to other things! I have pie to eat, a coffee run to make, a corset to work on, and an application to work on.
