I would say that 2012 was a year of wonderful changes, except that it doesn't feel quite like that. Many things did change, both without and within me, but change did not define the year.

I hadn't lain out at night to watch falling stars, not even the Perseid meteor shower, since I was in my teens. But mrizh loves the stars--he even has a decent small telescope--so this year, we went up into the high desert and camped for one night to watch the meteors.

What's worth seeing in London if I only have about 24 hours there?

It will be on a Sunday, and I'm already planning to go to church at All Saints Margaret Street. I also kind of want to visit Westminster Abbey, and/or St. Paul's Cathedral. (I realize that on a Sunday both will be more difficult, but that's the one day I have ( Read more... )
