"I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart;
I will tell of all Your wonders.
I will be glad and exult in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High."

Psalm 9:1-2

It's been a long year, and a very rough year, and I've no idea what's coming next or how to prepare to meet it. But at the same time, there's a lot I am grateful for; it could have been much worse (when you're close enough to the edge to look over, you can really imagine what it would be like to actually fall off); and the past week has been more encouraging than the entire past 12 months. Great timing, God. :)

So here is my annual, random, not-entirely-inclusive list of gratitude:

--Over the past week or so, I've received two gifts of money, and another offer, and I have at least a small buffer in my finances for the first time in...many months. I am so grateful to those involved. It makes a lot of difference in one's mental state, not to be counting pennies in one's mind all day every day, especially the last week of the month when all the bills come due.

--My tutoring job, which is fun even though it's complicated and doesn't pay enough. One of my students has already showed marked improvement in the topic we're studying! I am so proud of him.

--My boyfriend. :) One of the greatest gifts of this past year, and better than exercise or meds for my blood pressure. *kisses*

--All my friends! Both the local ones, who manage to put up with my wonky schedule and depressive self, and those far away who encourage me and call me up to chat. Hugs for everyone!

--My family, especially my father. How they put up with me I do not know, but I love them for it.

--The presence and grace of God. People are not enough to keep me sane, not this year, and I don't know where I might be now if it weren't for Him.

--Food and shelter and gas in my car. Yep. All things necessary for daily life.

--And speaking of daily life--the internet! :)

--My shows, especially dear Numb3rs. (I'm not sure I should put fandom on the list this year...I've been swinging constantly between gratitude and "I am leaving you all to your wank forever while I go and have a life over here." But consider it mentioned because it's still fun.)

--The Los Angeles Public Library.

--hot water for showers.

--Coffee!

--That I am still alive, and healthy, and able to do what life requires of me. (Mostly.)

God is good all the time; and all the time, God is good.
