Inuyasha rolled off with a groan; a limp, heated mass of sated hanyo. Quite contented herself, Kagome snuggled closer. “Better?”
“Keh.” Inuyasha slid an arm around her, burying his nose in her damp hair. “Sorry I started off kinda rough…”
“It’s okay,” Kagome replied, stroking his side. “You backed off when I protested.” She felt him starting to tense despite her words, and smacked him. “Don’t brood, lover,” she scolded gently. “You had a bad time; I knew how it was going to be as soon as you grabbed me.” She planted a quick kiss on his collarbone. “No whining.”
He gave her a long sigh, instead, wrapping her up in both arms. That might have led somewhere, except the next moment, his stomach rumbled-loudly.
Kagome snickered.
“Oi!” Inuyasha protested. “I’m hungry! You haven’t fed me in what-three days?”
“Not my fault you had a hole in your gut,” she retorted cheerfully. She pushed against him. “Let me up, and I’ll check the stew.”
“And brew some tea? I can still taste that medicine!”
Kagome rolled her eyes. “Yes, yes. Let me up?”
“Keh.” He rolled onto his back, pulling the blanket off as he did. Kagome quickly dressed, then went to the fire. She checked the stew, brewed two cups of tea-mint for him, green for her-and pulled out a crock of pickles, all the while enjoying the view of her magnificently exposed husband.
She was so happy to still have that view.
