(no subject)
Well, I'm working tomorrow (but I don't go in until 8 so I can sleep in!) and I worked on Saturday, which is the beginning of our work week. So that means I'll have worked 6 days this week and I still won't quite have 40 hours. That sucks. I've applied for one of 2 full time positions as a cashier at the commercial end of the building. This is the last chance I'm giving this company. If it's a no-go then I'm really going to go hard on the job search despite the fact that I like my job and the store. I understand why they put a cap on hours for people hired as part-time (to avoid the possibility of people wanting to claim full-time benefits) and why they need a broader pool of employees to choose from (I've been management and I know how it works), but that doesn't make it suck any less for me.
OTOH, I'm being a good co-worker and taking two cakes into work tomorrow for pre-Easter treats for my fellow workers. I just finished them. A super lemon bundt cake with a lemon glaze that was a real hit last time and a chocolate fudge sheet cake with triple chocolate fudge chip frosting. That is one rich cake!
I also made up a Cooling Spray to use and give samples of. It gets hot at the front of the store. Hell, it gets hot anywhere in the store during the summer. If you've ever gone to the chiropractor and he's sprayed you afterward with something called Biofreeze, it's something like that. Menthol crystals with peppermint, spearmint, lemon and lavender essential oils all melted in a solubilizer so that the oils will disperse in a 'water' base of witch hazel, aloe vera juice and water and just for shits and giggles I threw in a little sodium lactate (a humectant because glycerin is too sticky for something that's supposed to cool you off) and a preservative of course so cooties don't move in. Sprayed on the back of the neck and anywhere else convenient it really does cool you off. I got some neat cobalt blue 4 oz 'bullet' bottles with mister tops for a really good price. I know of at least a couple of ladies who'll be interested because they get just as hot as I do. I need to get myself a package of baby washcloths too so I can make some re-useable facial and hand wipes. I tend to ooze oily sweat in the heat and I feel so much cooler with my face, hands and arms wiped off occasionally and making multiple trips to the restroom just isn't convenient sometimes. Right now I've got some dried out baby wipes that I'm going to soak in toner and take with me.
Welp! Since I get to stay up later tonight I'm going to watch Supernatural now. If I don't talk to y'all before then, have a Hoppy Easter (if you indulge).
