I haven't been able to talk myself into actually doing any work today other than moving a planter. That involved five minutes of untying the bamboo poles that I'd wired to small nails driven into the edge of the balcony railing, then moving the box into more full sunshine and re-wiring the bamboo poles to the little plastic fencing I have screwed to the railing. The fencing - about 8" high and meant to fence off gardens and borders is to keep Phouka from charging up and snatching birds off of the feeder. The planters were in an L-shape with my snow peas. The one sitting against the base of the solid wall wasn't getting nearly as much sun and the little plants in the one against the open railing which are nearly twice as tall. I'll just have to reserve that shadier position for something up on a platform in reach of the sun.
Instead, it's such a gorgeous day - 74, clear skies, warm sun and moderate breeze - that I've been lounging either on the balcony in the sun or just inside the door on the couch, reading. Tomorrow is payday so I'll go out for at least a bit. I have a coupon for a hair cut (long, long overdue!) that'll be less than half price and tomorrow's the last day. I'll also pick up an extra bag of potting soil and re-do my pots when I get back home because tomorrow's weather is supposed to be a carbon copy of today. Sweet!
Later today I'll dig out the hummingbird feeder and get it washed and filled. It's a little early but I don't what any possible early arrivals not to see the welcome mat already out.
Now, I've checked my itinerary and I'm scheduled for more lounging.
Later!
