(no subject)
Well, I've been relatively lazy but this hasn't been a very restful day. I did manage to sleep in a little and then had a leisurely breakfast and lie-about before spending an hour plus at the plasma center. But while I was laying there having my body siphoned I realized my tooth was starting to hurt even more. A little investigation discovered a beginning abscess in the gum above it. By the time I got home it was visibly growing and there was a tiny pin-prick of a white spot showing where it was trying to burst forth. I imagined the coming 6-day, extremely stressful and overtime packed work week to come and then I imagined it while fighting an abscessed tooth.
*sigh*
So I got dressed again and looked wistfully at the clock (it was just after 1 pm) and hoped I was home by 3. LOL! I didn't even see a doctor until almost 4 pm. During that time that white spot on the abscess almost tripled in size and, while looking in the hand mirror I reached out to touch it with the tip of my pinky and it exploded! Squirted bloody pus across my hand and the floor. Disgusting but it felt much, much better. Half an hour later the doc came in, checked it out, said it was lucky it burst because sometimes they have to cut them open to drain them, gave me a script for antibiotics and sent me on my way.
I stopped by the local Walmart on the way home, filled my $4 prescription and picked up something for dinner. It's 5:40 now and I'm going to crawl in bed in a couple of hours because I'm going to try to work from 6-3 tomorrow instead of 7-4 so I can have a little extra afternoon to wallow in.
Like I said, not exactly a restful day, but it definitely could have been worse.
