It's finally here...
Man, the last 2-3 weeks have been brutal at work. At the end of Sept the freight began coming in hot and heavy. Then there was inventory to prep for. And this last week I was desperately trying to get as much crap done as I could before disappearing for 10 days. All with the minimum of help. Last weekend I had a 3-day weekend but I spent most of it sleeping. This might have been the first day of my vacation but I was still up at 7:30 because I went to bed so early last night.
I just felt like I'd been beaten with a really big stick and was totally dragging ass. You know when you're really tired and the weather turns chilly it's sometimes hard to get warm? That was me last weekend and last night. Sweats, t-shirt, fuzzy socks and hoodie with a lap robe or blankets and I was still having trouble warming up. Better today though and that's good because it's grey and rainy outside. The good news is that the next 4-5 days at least are sunny and in the low 70s. Perfect vacation weather!
My plans are sparse. Watching some TV (it's a Walking Dead marathon today in preparation for the S3 premiere tomorrow night), some light housework, reading fic and trying to get some writing done. Monday is my brother's birthday so probably Wed I'll go pick him up for the day. Monday I have to get maintenance up here to fix my oven. What kind of a birthday would it be without a cake? German chocolate to be exact. Friday I think I'll spend with my friend Donna, watching movies and cooking. I want to try and make some biscotti - chocolate almond. I'm beginning to crave some chai and I think that would go perfectly.
Now, I think it's time for some popcorn and walking rotting corpses.
