This particular student was black
so he could not possibly be an angel.
Their images of Heavenly beings
had never been challenged.
They were good people
who had only been shown their reflections
in stained glass windows.
And the hair of the Jesus
placed on their Crosses hung straight like theirs.
But this student was too black
to be an angel.
