On Faith

What benefits a being bound to Faith?

Surely wealth would prove much greater

And the world never prays nor longs for grace

It moves towards the present, Faith is hope placed in later

What brought wives to pray for husbands in battle

Or to lay blessed hands on a sickened child?

In disastrous moments does not the heart still rattle

Leaving the idea of unwavering Faith defiled?

Yet somehow or someway the belief moves on

Continuing its steady course

And despite many ills the people grow strong

Pointing to Faith as their endless source

Though struggle, like the wind, comes and goes

And good times seem to end too soon

Faith is the seed that somehow always grows

And its flower, no matter the season, is in bloom

So, what benefits a being bound to Faith

That proved even wealth was not greater?

Tis this, poverty has befallen even the richest estates

But no matter the peril, Faith is the Great Vindicator
