GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINATIONS. THEY ARE OUT.
I dream of a day when the supporting cast of House *cough* Lisa and to a lesser extent Robert *cough* get noticed, but other than that oversight they're pretty solid. Plus, from what I can tell, eligibility for the Globes runs from Oct 1st - meaning that Lisa would only have had episodes from season 4 and like... Up to Adverse Events, which makes it in by like, a day. They were never going to get her a nomination because she didn't really have an awful lot to do for any of that - nothing where she really got to shine centre stage. Next year is where I get pissed.
But Hugh & the show got nominated, so SCORE. Californication, The Office, 30 Rock, MLP, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Steve Carell, David Duchovny, RDJ, Angelina Jolie, Burn After Reading, Frances McDormand, Dexter, MCH...
AND OH OH, WHAT'S THAT? I almost died when I saw that True Blood and Anna Paquin made the list? I THINK I DID. A+++, HFPA. A+++. I really didn't expect that and seriously, that's missing out a huge chunk of the best episodes, surely? Most of it aired after Oct 1st. I'm impressed and extremely happy.
III am rooting for Hugh, House, Anna, David, Tina and Californication as far as the main categories for TV go. I think.
I am ALSO really excited for a lot of the films that were nominated that I didn't get to see yet. Since they're like, not out. But I'm excited for Milk and Frost/Nixon. AND OH! The Curious Case of Benjamin Button looks pretty wonderful. I want to see Doubt and I've heard wonderful things about Slumgdog Millionaire. Revolutionary Road looks good. No interest in The Wrestler and have yet to see anything alluring for Rachel Getting Married.
ALL IN ALL, I APPROVE. I have no major complaints. Nice work, voters. Some Pushing Daisies would have been nice, but eh, I can deal.
