I could have done a lot of things today but I just wanted to stay home and have the house to myself. I get as much Gemma time as I want, I can just go in my room. But having the freedom to be alone in the house is different. I never get to do that.
So I stayed home. I took a long shower and since my mum put the tree up last night, I decided to put on the lights and watch Christmas films and episodes, make something to eat and photoshop and stuff.
I put the lights on and turned out the living room light, and it was nice but I didn't feel like watching Christmas things, I felt like watching favourite things.
I've not watched Almost Famous in at least a year, so I decided to put that on. I didn't really give it much thought, I just felt like watching it. It's one of my top 4. I went through a phase where I watched it constantly and now that it's been so fucking long I'm noticing different things and responding in different ways and I constantly have goosebumps and GOD GOD GOD IT IS JUST SO FUCKING GOOD.
AND ANNA PAQUIN! I am VERY aware that she is in this. I have actually been meaning to watch it again FOR her for a long time. I love her to death and have for a long time based entirely on the "act one - in which, she pretends not to care about him" scene. It's just this one little exchange and it's always sort of stuck with me. And then True Blood happened and seriously. LOVE. She is enchanting. ANYWAY, I sort of forgot? I was all sucked in and then I heard "it's all happening!!" and I screamed and GOD, I am having so much fun. Rainn is in it, too! And I know I've not watched it since I started watching The Office, so it's probably actually more like 2 years since I've watched this. Which is fucking tragic.
Seriously though, if there are people reading this who haven't seen Almost Famous, you need to get on that. It is a beautiful film in every respect. One that may very well change your life. It's a film for anyone who has ever felt passionately about anything. If you've felt that way about something out of your control then I don't understand how you could possibly not relate. It is just stunning and affecting and djhfgsjfg GOD.
I'm going to watch Garden State next, which I adore to an equally extreme degree. I am probably not going to get a single icon made, lol. I thought I'd put shit on and it'd be background noise but it's been forever and I love them and I'm getting all sucked in ♥ ♥ ♥
