Aish, poor guy. I'd understand his feeling. Daring Urself unconsciously to raise a little hope, only to have it shattered by little indifference. It might not mean anything (his mother's lack of interest about his whereabouts) but to a troubled teenager coming from a 'broken' family, it is everything bad.
I like this chapter! It's not rushed. I can relate to JaeJoong personally & from how U wrote him, I can tell U that everything is believable & not 'forced'. JaeJoong is the kind that silently/secretly wants to be loved, scared of loneliness & alone, he'd like to be assured of his importance & place, so YunHo's interest/company will makes him absolutely in joy but like U said, he's not ever going to admit that. He's not even going to acknowledge that fact / do something to ensure he'll get the attention he wants because he's afraid of the 'falling' & chance of rejection. It's better to be alone like he chose himself to do than to be left behind / disappointed by people.
