It's been three weeks since Yunho made himself feel comfortable around Jaejoong, and those three weeks have flown by quite fast. At first, Jaejoong wasn't so used to having someone talking to him all the time and sitting with him during lunch breaks. It used to be just himself thinking about all the things he could have done. Now, it was Jaejoong looking forward to the stories Yunho would tell him, the slight teasing and the smiles he would receive - not that he'll ever admit it to Yunho.
He hasn't spoken much towards his new friend, but the tall, tanned and muscular guy was pretty patient with him and Jaejoong was really grateful for that. He thought Yunho would have given up after a day with his constant silence, but he was shocked to find him waving at him the next day and running over to ask how his night was. He decided to give the taller man a small smile, and Yunho was happy he wanted to give him a chance.
"Hey Jae, pass me the glue," Yunho pointed over to the bottle of craft glue and Jaejoong handed it to him. They were over at Yunho's house to work on a project for history. They were given the choice to choose who they wanted to work with, and while Jaejoong was preparing to tell the teacher he didn’t have a partner - or that he preferred to work alone - Yunho grabbed a chair, dragged it over to Jaejoong, sat down and started brainstorming ideas. Jaejoong was shocked at first and was left speechless, but the action made him swell inside with happiness.
Jaejoong learnt that Yunho was only a year older than him and was adopted. His parents were of French descent, but he himself was Korean. The raven-haired man waited for Yunho to talk about his parents, but the pained look that had decorated his friends face in the silence gave him the idea that Yunho would tell him at a better time, but Jaejoong couldn’t shake the feeling of worry away.
After ten minutes of constructing their model, Jaejoong insisted it was getting late and should get going. The older man offered to drive him home, but the younger refused.
“Y-Yunho! Don’t… worry!” Jaejoong shook his head frantically and slung his bag on his shoulder. They two men were standing by the front door of the house.
“Jaejoong, its 7:30pm and I know it’s kind of early but I don’t want to risk it. I know you’re a guy, but you’re also my friend. Come on, I’ll give you a ride, and stop shaking your head. If you keep doing that, your head will fall off!” The taller man joked with a hearty laugh and went to go grab his keys with a raven haired man trailing behind him, trying to voice out that he would be completely fine, but it obviously wasn’t working.
It wasn't until the raven-haired male gave up that they finally got inside the car and on their way back to Jaejoong's house. The ride was silent but oddly comfortable. Probably because Yunho was so used to his silent friend and guessed that he was just as tired as himself that he didn't try to start a conversation.
Once the seventeen year old teenager got out the car and thanked Yunho numerous times by mumbling and bowing his head. As he reached the steps to the front porch, he turned back to see Yunho’s smile along with his small palm waving at him. The action made Jae’s cheeks burn up and he waved his hand shyly to the other, earning a big toothy grin from the driver. It wasn’t until Yunho pulled out of his driveway and sped down the road and turned the corner that Jaejoong let go of the breath he didn’t know he was holding and turned to open the door.
The second he turned the metal knob and pushed it, he was greeted with the smell of butter and beef accompanied by the sound of sizzling vegetables. The happiness he felt not even 10 seconds ago was forgotten. He has never been greeted with the smell of dinner before that it kind of caught him off guard. He was excited but anxious at the same time. He quickly slipped off his shoes by the front door and walked into the kitchen where he saw his mother stirring up the stir-fry. She turned around to open the fridge and spotted the petite male and jumped in surprise.
"Oh! Jay, you're home. I didn't hear you come in," she spoke softly. Her voice was kind of rough, but it was nothing a cup of warm lemon honey tea couldn't help. She continued to cook as if Jay wasn't even there and didn’t bother to ask any questions about his day or whatever else his mother used to ask him when he was much younger. He stood there for about three minutes, waiting for his mother to say something, anything until he gave up and ran upstairs to his room and hastily shut the door. It didn't take more than ten seconds for him to fall on his knees and break down in tears. He brought a hand to cover his mouth and bit his lip to stop any sounds of escaping. His body shook as the watery substance continuously fell from his eyes.
He didn't know what to feel; incredibly happy that he had come home to the smell of dinner cooking rather than the horrible stench of alcohol and cigarettes, or to be somewhat depressed that his mother was not one bit worried about his whereabouts, whether it was tonight or the past three weeks, and acted as if she didn't care about him at all.

A/N: Hi guys! Sorry for the delayed update. I was capped before (used up all my download for the month) and had to wait until the 1st which was like a few minutes ago LOL yeah. I thyink I kind of rushed it a bit too much and all. I mean, Jaejoong's already reacting to Yunho's gestures and I only introduced the guy in the last chapter. I didn't want to dwell on the first few days. It'll take forever that way. More on Yunho's sotry is definitely in the next chapter, which will be posted pretty soon! ^^
Have a nice day you guys! Hope you enjoyed the read.
Don't forget to leave a little comment as well :D!
