I've had a horrifically busy weekend. All week my mother and I cooked/baked for a family brunch on Saturday, which started at 11 and didn't end until about 9. I'd spent Friday night watching Monster High webisodes until 3 AM because I am stupid, so I didn't get much sleep plus I think I'm battling a slight sinus infection? I can't really tell. I went swimming and played whatever it is you play when you have raquets and beat the little plastic ball thing over a net, plus I threw/kicked a football and played with a frisbee thing. I am terrible at all of these games. Then Boyfriend and I went to Chili's and then chilled at his house watching Oddities until like 3, because we are stupid.
Then on Sunday, which was today, I had to get up early again (see? STUPID) for another brunch, this time a fancy expensive buffet at a country club. Which was good. There's loads of food I like there, so I was happy.
THEN IT WAS KYLIE TIME.
Which was in Orlando, which is an hour and a half away and also happens to be in Universal Studios (the Hard Rock Cafe live venue... thing).
EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. EVERY SINGLE THING. ALL THE THINGS WERE PERFECT. I was able to get center seats in the front row of the top thingie (balcony? sort of?) which, while not actual front row, were excellent. Unrestricted view! And not from a wonky angle! I don't usually have this kind of luck.
I have a single picture from when she first came out. I had planned on taking more, but the camera's not that great in the dark and honestly I didn't want to waste time staring at her through a tiny screen when she's actually on the stage in front of me. I also have 3 minutes of recorded sound, 1 minute from Get Outta My Way, and 2 seperate minutes from In My Arms, which is my very very favoritest Kylie song. Unfortunately they're trapped on my phone.
It goes without saying, but I cried. She was the last person on my "Musical acts to see before I die" list, and I just never thought she'd ever get here. But she came! AND I WAS THERE.
Kylie's concerts are huge shows. Tons of costume changers, tons of dancers. So even if I wasn't a gigantic fan, I'd still have enjoyed it. There are so many costume changes but it all went so quickly that the show didn't drag. It's a long-ass show, though. Like... so long. It didn't FEEL long, but it was.
I was sad when the end of show confetti dropped and it didn't blow up to where we were, but on our way out we spotted some on the floor, so I have some official Kylie confetti and I am so excited about that, because when I saw Paul McCartney (...I go big when I go to concerts) there was also confetti and I didn't get any and I've been sad about that for years and now I have some concert confetti and I can die now.
They put a sign outside that said the show was being filmed and we all consented to being filmed by entering, so I wonder what that means. Her shows don't usually say that.
http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment_music_blog/2011/05/concert-review-kylie-minogue-at-hard-rock-live.html Says it better than I could, at the moment. I'll look at the setlist and write down my memories from each song in my writing notebook later, and post it maybe sometime. TOTES CRYING AGAIN LOL @ MY LIFE.
ANYWAY HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO THE MAMAS ON MY FLIST.
