then and now
Ten years ago I started listening to Blink 182. At that time I was awkward, super self-conscious, about to go to high school, and thinking how the song "What's My Age Again" was awesome, regardless of the fact that I didn't know what sodomy was and was definitely not interested in prank phone calls. The age 23 seemed so incredibly far away... Now, I am living in Japan, have more confidence, and well, it's not so bad being 23. At the age of 13, man oh man, I couldn't even imagine living in a different country, or speaking a different language, owning a car, renting my own apartment, traveling to many different places, being in my 20's...
I think I kinda like it. And I've only (technically) been 23 for 36 minutes :)
I may or may not be listening to "What's My Age Again" all day. (...nobody likes you when you're 23...and you still act like you're in freshman year...)
