The weekend was far preferable to last week. I spent Saturday going to the mall and haphazardly shopping for stuff, (although I didn't manage to get a present for my baby sis's birthday until Sunday,) and aflightoffancy and I had lunch at the kaitenzushi (conveyor belt sushi) place in the middle of the mall. In my memory, I liked the books 1-4 very much, and enjoyment started to slide after that.

I'm probably remembering it wrong, but wasn't it like, the first four books were out before it started getting REALLY big? I might be thinking of it wrong, but I feel like the over-all tone for books 5-7 were just not nearly as awesome as the first 4

Yeah, after book 4, the books got larger. Which was sad, because it often felt like Rowling just couldn't support her large plots and she didn't make wise narrative decisions, like how there was an epic underground revolution at Hogwarts that we missed because the narrative was following the Trio and their camping trip. Stuff like that.
