every moment of the night

If there's any trend in my dreams, it's amazingly detailed, whimsical surroundings, and a plot along the lines of a fantasy novel. When I dream about houses, they have far too many rooms on the inside than they should, all the rooms are very unusually arranged and decorated, and many have elements of the unreal to them. I dreamt I was in a room filling up with water, and to escape, I lifted a cupboard-sized door that led to a dumbwaiter, and swam up into a dry room. Some rooms have ponds in them, some of them have beds cut into the walls, curtains hanging from the ceiling, forestscapes made from wood. I have to admit, I would like my dream interior designer to makeover my house.

As for the plots, they can range from blatantly violent to tame, but I'm typically fighting something or running from something- usually both at the same time. Most of the time, there's sort of a vague notion as to what that something is, and it's likely to change as the dream goes on. Actually, most of my dreams aren't too stable- I can be holding a baby and have it grow smaller and smaller until it becomes a newborn puppy, or the person I'm talking to slips in and out of identities, or becomes something else altogether. That's probably why Alice in Wonderland hit home for me: that crack is totally what my dreams are like.
