under the boardwalk, down by the sea

My lymph nodes are so swollen that it hurts to lift my chin or move my neck. If it's not one thing, it's another lately. I'm fairly sure this is just another sinus cold, so I'm not all that worried, but I hate losing my sense of smell. Not because of smell itself, but because of how it screws with my sense of taste. I lose all will to eat once I ( Read more... )

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.

I like Huntress. She's kind of like a female Batman, and she embodies my idea that sometimes, you have the right to take a life. She's intense and driven and has no superpowers, but can hold her own against superpowered characters despite that lack.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?

For one episode, yes. Other than that, not really.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?

I can really relate to the character. I agreed with her that she had the right to kill the man who murdered her family. In the show, we see that he had done nothing 'good' in his life and caused misery to many other people. Sure, it might be 'beneficial' to keep him alive, but I don't think the others had the right to stand in her way. It was her choice to kill that man, and their protection of him pissed me off. I guess I am moved by the character because I so strongly understand where she's coming from. (And yes, I think vengeance can be justice in itself. The man never paid for his crimes, and the people he wronged were unable to pay in the price themselves. At that point, he could buy his way out of jail- what's the point?) Poor Huntress. She's more willing to make those hard decisions, and she gets slammed for it by the Justice League.

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?

It was a fun show. It's not on my epic list of favorite shows, but I enjoyed watching it for its humor, characters, and nostalgia trips.

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)

I ship Huntress with Question. He understands her and balances her without making condemnations or judgements, and she seems to respect him despite his social awkwardness.

6) Is there anything about the character you would change?

I'd make her a bigger character in the show. Take out Lantern and Black Canary and put in more Huntress. Honestly, the show's cast is too big for the plot to actually support the characters, anyway.

7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how do you see yourself interacting with him/her? (Would you get along well? Fall in love with? Dislike? Friendly rivalry? etc etc)

Awe-struck hero worship.

8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?

No. She's an awesome character, but she's not a favorite. I think, if I had more to work with, I'd love her character a lot more. As it is, I'm just left with a positive impression.

9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about (if you dislike) to someone whose new to the fandom?

Oh, definitely. "Watch this episode, Question and Huntress make an awesome team. Also, killing someone with an arrow is bad, but dropping tons of lumber on them is okay and not potentially fatal." No one dies of concussive injuries in cartoons.

10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?

I have no clue! I checked out the fandom for all of five minutes. I think she's popular with Question, but not on her own.
