Say what?

I went to knitting today - awesomeness- that's two week's in a row.  As long as gas stays low I can do that...while I have money that is.  There were a bunch of us, more than a dozen I think.  After coffee and my garlic/herb cream cheese filled pretzel, I sat down to work on the rectangular shawl for one of Annie's kids at TVUUC.  All the boys have been provided for, but there are 13 more girls.  spindalicious  gifted me with some beautiful deep wedgewood blue boucle yarn with multi-colored (aurora borealis) colors shot through some merino in the boucle.  It's a challenge to knit with but the results....oh my.   I have some beads I'm thinking of adding once the shawl is done.   I think I have enough to do a triangle shawl as well if I use the same sized needles.

Anyway, after the knitfest, I wandered over to World Market since I'd seen the email that their ornaments were 1/2 off.  Snagged my ornagift for the Yule gal gathering (oh the private locked posts on THAT!)  which I believe I MIGHT be able to attend depending on how late I return from my other business on the 13th.

I didnt' find much else in there I was interested in.  Just icing..no cake, ya know?  Anyway, I'm coming out of World Market and heading to my care and this guy gets out of a green Hummer.  I wrinkled my nose at the Hummer (that's just me) but I did a double take as the guy passed me.  This is what he was wearing:  A brown beanie, a black windbreaker jacket,  house slippers...the brown sueded sheep's wool lined kind and...boxers!  I shit you not!  White with black and red plaid pattern..and they were NOT winter weight flannel, these were thin cotton boxers.  And he's talking on his cellphone saying "yeah, doin' a litlle Christmas shoppin' today here at World Market" into the phone.

So....when did it become socially acceptable to go shopping in your pjs?  I mean, at home on the computer...sure.  But out, in an upscale neighborhood in your HUMMER and all you can find to wear is your house shoes and some boxers.  Oh yeah, there was a white tee shirt under the black windbreaker jacket.   I bought the most awesome pair of plaid pj pants and a black henley on sale for half off last week..and i've been wearing the hell out of them at home.  I didn't know I didn't have to change into clean clothes after showering to go knitting....I mean, this isn't the first time I've seen someone out shopping in pj's but they've always been like the ones I wear at home, long and usually flannel.

Something tells me my knitting buddies would NOT be amused if  I showed up in my pj's............

knitting, shopping, ridiculous shit
