...And All That Jazz...
Well, yes, decided to write a little LJ about the other things going on. I suppose since everyone else has written one, it may just be my own turn..
Watched the Academy Awards tonight... I haven't seen Chicago yet, but DAMN I was getting sick of that sound clip. It became annoying by the end of the show. Hell, it was annoying from the beginning.
I honestly wasn't expecting Michael Moore's speech. Though, I know he's known to say what everyone may be thinking but too afraid to say, it may not have been entirely tactful. Though I'm not 100% supportive on this 'war' myself (nor is most of the country that I live in), it still was not the right thing to say in front of that audience. A time and place for everything I suppose.
I've been getting e-mails forwarded to me, some against and some for this war. All I have to say about those making harsh statements, should shut their ignorant mouths. ON BOTH SIDES. And I'm not talking about those saying they hate Saddam or Bush...I speak of those saying fuck this, or fuck that. Show some maturity, people. I'm sick of receiving your e-mails in my inbox of your forwards on these ridiculous rants. I thought on-line journals were for rants, no?
Anyways, I guess yes - I don't have a very strong view on this war. I believe some of it may be for the best so that the civilians in Iraq can live with freedom, but on another view one has to wonder how many civilians died during this - or will?
As for this year's Academy Awards... Most of who won were expected. Though next year is Lord of the Rings year! *chuckles*
