Somehow..

Somehow I really screwed up my leg. During Track of Sophomore year at some point, I hurt my groin/hip joint so that anytime after that, my hip/groin joint pops and cracks when I stretch (or even move, especially are just waking up or sitting for a long time) (meaning sometimes several cracks just to get it fully stretched out). Since then, I also cannot stretch as far to my right as to my left and also, if I do a complete stretch where I do each stretch for a long time- my right hip joint hurt and are sore for a long time(not in a good way)..

And then recently, since I had begun upping my mileage and doing more intense work outs on the treadmill, I hurt it again. I'm not sure when or how it happened but a few days ago, something happened and now when I sit in a chair, I have a sometimes shooting, sometimes constant pain going from the top of my hip and hamstrings through my entire leg, concentrated at the back of my leg. And I cannot stretch it without pain. Sitting cross legged (which I do a lot since I do homework in my bed) is not good.

I'm so worried. I looked up possibilities online, and one of them is a hip labral tear, which deals with the cartilage in the socket of your hip joint (which provides smooth movement and cushion) tearing and causing a "catching sensation" or a clicking. I mean, this would be a pretty extreme thing (I hope) but.. I'm extremely worried about this stopping me from running. My life would be completely altered and I would be so unhappy if I had to stop. I really don't have the money for injections or surgery either. :( I was going to do my first half-marathon soon also I think. I was getting really excited about being able to improve myself.

I'm going to try and visit the physical trainer for the athletes here on Monday and see if they'll just listen to my problem and maybe try to diagnose it. In the meantime, I'm going to start running on it again (very lightly). I took a 2 day break and it might have helped, but I'm unsure.

:(
