Doctors and nurses in the ER have portable phones that they are supposed to carry. Often, I will see a doctor or nurse griping that they never got their phone and they can't find it. I will then punch the phone number of the phone they are supposed to be carrying into my land line and, 9 times out of 10, will hear it ringing. Problem solved. I am a genius.
What I don't get is why no one else things to do this for themselves? I know that whenever I've misplaced my cell phone, I long for a land-line to call it with. If I'm lucky, I'm with a friend who can call it for me.
