This had become a needlessly long day for the little ninja, and Yuffie was now at the end of her rope. Her strength had run thin in the past few hours, though she was thankful that Vincent had recently only asked that she stay in the shadows. Honestly, that was the most welcoming event of the day as far as she was concerned. But now was the time to go home and sleep the last eighteen hours of her life off and hope that, in the morning, it was all just a dream that she could wake from to find Cloud still asleep in her living room. Then, she'd let paranoia get the best of her by refusing to continue their plan to escort Tiny out of the city. Since that little thought, Yuffie had refused to pinch herself because it would only prove that it was no dream. She had hopes that just couldn't be crushed at the moment, but what was a girl to do?

She snapped out of her daze, realizing she had been on autopilot for the past ten minutes on her walk home. Or what she hoped could be home, she wasn't ready for anything else. It was only a block away until she got to her apartment building, but her steps came to a halt and she frowned at the empty street. Throughout the entirety of her day, she hadn't once tried to find Cloud. She knew why, she just didn't want to say it aloud. Her worst fears would be true and he'd be captured somewhere, held prisoner by that blond with a gun. Her pet, or something as equally horrifying.

Yuffie cringed at the mental images and ran her fingers through her hair, coming to a stop when she felt a lump left behind from her own opponents blow. "Ah! She gave me a horn!" She winced as her fingers touched it again. At least it was a distraction from her fears. She let out a heavy sigh and turned in her place, staring back in the direction she knew she should have been going. "Tifa'll know how to fix it, hopefully without pushing it back in," she grumbled an excuse as to why her legs were already leading her down the route that would no doubt end in the familiar bar.

Inner turmoil stopped her again midway between her destination and her soft, warm bed. "Agh!" Both hands lifted to ruffle her hair in frustration as she shook her head. "What do I keep worrying about? Gawd!" She spun on her heel to go back but remained still. "Stupid Cloud... Probably sitting somewhere with a glass of juice and being babied..." That still didn't make her feel better. What a mess she'd gotten herself into.
