Who: Reeve, Nanaki
Status: Open~
When: 8:35 PM
Where: Sector 5, Midgar/Edge
What: Taking a moment to reconnect to what's really important. And to stop and smell the roses.

Edge was dim and gloomy after the sun set at night; smog from Midgar still lingered over the place like a thundercloud. A gloom that matched his mood after more long, fruitless hours politicking and pooling resources, one that seemed to linger even heavier the closer he got to the border between the old city and new. Talking with Aerith had helped his mood, to a point; all that cheer had crashed once he returned to the WRO. Troop withdrawals, resource consolidation, emergency replacements... it was enough to drive one mad, really. Even with Cait Sith helping sort through the chaos, it was overwhelming. Coffee could only go so far in keeping him alert. The closest thing he had to a soothing medicine for his nerves was the catnip mice he kept in his desk, and they didn't work well on humans.

So when the first cracks started showing in his professional facade, Cait had unceremoniously booted him out of the office. Again. (Somewhere in the back of his mind, he wondered if it really was a good thing that his creation knew him so well.)

So here he was now, the driver sitting back in the warmth of the car while he approached the wrought-iron gates. Soft natural lights were placed around the borders, keeping the seemingly empty lot and house illuminated. It was one of the few places where flowers would grow, a splash of life in the middle of the lifeless no-color of Midgar. The gates swung open with a low groan and creak that echoed through the broken area. The dilapidated house still stood to one side; a little ways behind it, amid a tangle of thin, weedy wild roses (ones he'd transplanted by hand, not long after Meteor), was a plain, simple granite block.

Reeve sat back on his ankles and smiled faintly. "... evening, Mum."
