The moment that Yazoo filled his lungs with his first breath of air was the moment he realized that something was different. He slowly became aware of his surroundings, and quickly realized that he was lying on side, the surface underneath him hard. Something began to encase his body, and it was with another breath that he felt the biggest difference of all; a soft beating in his chest ( ... )

Life. What an interesting concept. Of course, Kadaj had never really been the sort to devote attention to that kind of thought-- never in all seriousness, at least-- but after experiencing the altogether unpleasant sensation of suddenly going from over there to being over here, it was... well, he wasn't sure what.

But it just figured, didn't it? Death had proved to be just as transient as life was, in the end.

A sudden coughing fit brought an end to his reverie, and he automatically curled into himself as he fought to control it. Laughing probably hadn't been his best idea at this point, but it had seemed so funny that he didn't know how else he could have reacted. Besides, if he didn't know any better, he'd say that he was dying again, and how could something like that not be funny? True, this felt much more like dying in reverse, but with how much of a pain it was for him to think and move, he might as well have been. Still funny, but he really wished it would stop ( ... )

It was fascinating watching as the two bodies came to life. Almost like watching a work of art being painted right before your very eyes as colour was breathed back into their flesh. Muscles moved, blood began pumping, and the moment the leather began cladding their naked limbs, Sephiroth had known his summoning had been successful. Humans, if nothing else, always were good for providing him for what he needed most. This time had been no different either ( ... )

Only had a need for the two of them?

Yazoo wanted to ask why Loz wasn’t being brought back, but before he could open his mouth his attention was drawn toward the sound of coughing, and he looked over to see that Kadaj was finally awake. Deciding to leave his brothers to themselves for a few minutes, he slowly pushed himself up into a standing position and crossed his arms behind his head to stretch.

Ah, so they were in the ruins of Midgar. He himself would have preferred the Forgotten City, but he guessed this place was better than nothing. Dropping his arms, he reached behind him with the intent of inspecting his Velvet Nightmare, but his hand met nothing but air and for a second he was confused as to why it wasn’t with him.

Oh, that’s right. Big Brother sliced it in half, he thought to himself as a dark expression crept over his features for a brief moment. He’ll pay for that.He turned his attention back to Kadaj and Sephiroth, deciding that the two of them had had a sufficient amount of time to squabble with each other. ( ... )
